Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month, a time to honor the contributions and legacies of Black Americans throughout history.

The Tepper School and Carnegie Mellon communities are hosting a variety of events and workshops throughout the month of February to celebrate.

Wednesday, Feb. 2: My15 Stories

The Black Business Association and African Business Collective are hosting “My15 Stories: Black Experiences in America,” a night of storytelling for students to share their life experiences on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 4: Annual Black Futures Summit

The 2022 Annual Black Futures Summit will take place on Friday, Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. The Black Futures Summit's keynotes, lectures, workshops, and sessions have centered on better understanding, supporting, and enhancing the academic and social experience of the Black community at Carnegie Mellon.

Tuesday, Feb. 8: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Keynote Lecture Series

Carnegie Mellon is hosting the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Celebration throughout 2022. The next keynote speaker is Soledad O’Brien, Broadcast Journalist, Producer, Philanthropist, who will be speaking on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 5 p.m. The event is both virtual and in-person.

Wednesday, Feb. 9: Candid Conversations

The Black Business Association and the African Business Collective are continuing the “Candid Conversations” series. The next event will be on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m.

Monday, Feb. 14: J.P. Morgan Diverse Wealth Initiatives

Hosted by the African Business Collective, learn how J.P. Morgan Private Bank is tackling the minority wealth gap from Managing Director Clinton Warren. The event will be held virtually and at the Tepper School in room 2111 on Monday, Feb. 14 at noon.
