Economics Student Earns Economic Honor Society Leadership Award

Senior economics student Shlok Goyal was awarded the Charles Phillips Outstanding Student Leadership Award from Omicron Delta Epsilon, an international economic honor society. The award recognizes students who assume active leadership roles in their ODE chapters.

A maximum of three students are selected for the award each year from an international pool of students nominated by faculty advisers. Along with Goyal, students from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and the University of Oregon received the commemorative Charles Phillips OSL medallion this year.

The Carnegie Mellon University ODE chapter was established in 1969. The honor society offers opportunities for publication in its research journal, The American Economist, as well as a network of faculty, students, and other economics researchers around the world.
