Paving the Way for Electric Vehicle Policy in America Webinar

The ESI Center for the Future of Cities, in partnership with Santander, will be hosting a webinar on February 15th from 9:30 – 10:30 AM ET titled, "Paving the Way for Electric Vehicle Policy in America," which will include Metro21 Executive Director Karen Lightman as a panelist.

Cities and communities across the United States are beginning to take more strides toward fully adopting electric vehicles (EVs) and integrating them into the fabric of their roads and urban infrastructure. The benefits of making the switch to EVs are growing and well documented, but there are still several challenges that need to be overcome to allow for an easier and equitable transition.

Addressing these barriers will need effective, comprehensive, and long-term policies for cities to reach electrification and emission targets. Municipalities both small and large will need to look to their states for not only guidance on EV policy, but also as a partners ready to champion their specific needs on the federal level.

Paving the Way for Electric Vehicle Policy in America will bring together city leaders, urban planners, and practitioners within the transportation space to examine the challenges and opportunities EVs present, discuss policies and strategies being implemented at the state and local levels, and present new ideas on how cities can prepare for widespread EV adoption while factoring in equity issues.

Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions and engage with our group of experts to better understand the U.S. market and current views on electrification.
