Matching Students to Careers in Public Health and Social Services

On Thursday, December 3, 2020, Metro21 and the Volcker Alliance hosted the second webinar in a series, "Matching Students to Careers in Public Health and Social Services."

The G2U Initiative grew out of a series of exploratory conversations that the Volcker Alliance hosted around the country to improve dialogue and explore collaborations between governments and universities within a region.

In this webinar, panelists representing the Southwestern Pennsylvania region’s government agencies and universities came together to discuss careers in public health and social services. The goal of the webinar is to foster connections and share actionable information between people who want to hire talented government employees and those who are trying to help students find great jobs/careers, as well as provide attendees with critical market intelligence and actionable connections.

Panelists included: Dr. Susan Moore, United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC); Kim Joyce, Allegheny County Health Department; Samantha Burney, Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University; Dr. Malaika Turner, Student Affairs, Indiana University of Pennsylvania; and Dr. Thistle Elias, School of Public Health, University of Pittsburgh.
