This episode of the Metro21: Smart Cities Podcast features Distinguished Fellow Rick Stafford.Rick Stafford joined CMU after serving as Chief Executive Offer for the Allegheny Conference on Community Development. He directed the launch of both Metro21 and Traffic21, officially establishing the University's involvement in the smart cities space.

Rick has worked in the highest levels of the Pennsylvania policy world but has rural, small town roots. He talks to Karen about his upbringing, his journey through policymaking, and his driving principle: a commitment to place. He also speaks on the upcoming wave of smart cities innovation, and the ways legislators and policymakers have to shift to capitalize.
