New Year, New Mayor

As we start off 2022, we say goodbye to Mayor Bill Peduto, who has served the City of Pittsburgh since 2014 and are excited to welcome Mayor Ed Gainey to lead us forward!

In 2014, Mayor Peduto signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Carnegie Mellon University that would be the first of its kind in the country that developed a relationship between Metro21 and the City of Pittsburgh that would help make the city an urban lab.  

From there, Mayor Peduto forged ahead with development of civic tech, advancements in climate change, groundbreaking dark sky initiatives, providing access to public data, and so many other wonderful achievements.  We have been honored to work with Mayor Peduto and the City of Pittsburgh throughout his tenure. 

We look forward to continuing our strong history of collaboration with the City of Pittsburgh, now under the leadership of Mayor Gainey.
