Getting access

The XCTF is a user facility available to users from Carnegie Mellon, federal national labs, other academic institutions, and industry. User fees are collected for each use to fund the maintenance and upkeep of the facility.

Technician support is available to users. Nano-CT training will be made available to users who intend to use it on a regular basis and requires several uses of the instrument supervised by a trained user.

When considering a particular use of the instrument, we suggest contacting us to discuss whether our instruments will provide the desired outcomes and to discuss the specifics of sample preparation.

Once a user's sample is prepared, time can be reserved on the instrument by contacting us with your request. The sample should be delivered to the facility a few days before scanning so that the sample can equilibrate within the CT's environment.
