Computing and Your Andrew ID

What is an Andrew Account?

Your Andrew Account is your key to access many of the university's computing services such as the My Andrew web service, the Carnegie Mellon Web Portal, computing clusters, e-mail, and other services — not to mention the Calculus Placement Exam that you will take to determine which calculus course you need to take this fall!

You can learn what your Andrew ID (and e-mail address) is by visiting the Carnegie Mellon directory web page: http://www.cmu.edu/directory

Simply type your name in the form field and click on Search. To determine your Andrew ID, follow this example:

  • If e-mail address = jsmith@andrew.cmu.edu
  • Andrew Account Name = jsmith

To set your password to something personal and secure, visit the web page at:

https://acis.as.cmu.edu/application/now_enrolling.html

and follow the on-screen instructions. To access the site, you'll need to know your Admission ID that you used through the enrollment process.
