S3 Release Features Modifications to Support Hybrid Model

Today's S3 release implemented new delivery mode assignments to indicate whether course-sections will be delivered in-person, remotely, or using a combined approach of in-person and remote. Additionally, each student's self-reported time zone information has been added to course rosters. There are a number of ways administrators, advisors and instructors can view this information - details and instructions may be found on the Enrollment Services website.

This release also introduced the ability for S3 users to view student responses to various questions that have been asked of them through Student Information Online (SIO) for fall 2020 planning purposes (i.e., schedules, housing, financial aid).

In June, the introduction of high school transcripts and high school profiles were added to student records in the S3 Admin Console. As the functionality is rolled out, first-year student advisors will be able to view high school transcripts and profiles (if provided) of new, incoming students.

COMING SOON!

The S3 team will continue making additions and changes to the S3 suite to support CMU's response to COVID-19. The next phase of the MyCommunity project will also continue, including a wider range of advisor roles assigned to students (such as first-year advisor or faculty advisor) and the ability for S3 users to assign, update and remove advisors via a CSV upload.

Questions and comments may be submitted via the feedback button in the S3 Admin Console. For broad S3 information and user guides, visit www.cmu.edu/es/s3-project.
