S3 Modifications Coming to Reflect Hybrid Course Schedule

Dear Colleagues,

To properly represent the hybrid course schedule and delivery mode options in our Student Services Suite (S3) applications, we want to alert you to some modifications taking place this week and next.

MODIFICATIONS

Updates will include:

  • New date (day) and time assignments for course-sections to reflect the "stretched" scheduled with earlier start times and later end times, as well as more time between classes
  • Delivery mode assignments to indicate whether course-sections will be delivered in-person, remotely, or using a combined approach of in-person and remote (specific details about these modes are forthcoming)

TIMING

In order to provide deans, associate deans, faculty, and advisors with the ability to review the updated fall 2020 schedule information before it is viewable to students in Student Information Online (SIO), we are prioritizing work in the S3 Admin Console and S3 Faculty Course & Grade Information page. As such, students will not be able to access their Fall 2020 Semester Schedule or export calendar feature in SIO from July 15-20.

The following table displays the timing of the modifications:

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE

Students will be alerted that their SIO Fall 2020 Semester Schedule will be unavailable July 15-20 via a banner that will appear on their Semester Schedule page in SIO and notices on The HUB website.

Additionally, the ability for departments to perform course-related changes in S3 during the above timeframe will be limited while we work on these modifications. The University Registrar's Office will reach out to departments and S3 users over the next few days with updated departmental S3 capabilities and next steps regarding course and room-related changes.

Please stay tuned for detailed information regarding delivery modes upon the July 16 release in S3. Questions or concerns may be submitted using the feedback link at the top of your S3 Admin Console. Thank you for your partnership and patience while we work to get these necessary updates in place.

Regards,

The S3 Team & Enrollment Systems
