Bio

Dr. Cristina Roldão is a Portuguese sociologist, researcher, and lecturer. Her work focuses on racism, ethno-racial inequalities, and anti-racist education in Portugal, specifically in the school environment and other sectors. Roldão has a PhD in sociology and has been involved in several projects, including the "Roadmap for an Anti-racist Education" and the co-coordiination of the 7th International Afroeuropeans Conference. Roldão's research also focuses on the history of Black presence and resistance in Portuguese society, with recent works on black feminism and a commemorative edition of the newspaper "O Negro", among numerous articles and active involvement in public debate on these issues. Roldão is currently a lecturer at the Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal and a researcher at ISCTE-IUL.
