Bio
Brad has been an integral part of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) since 2014, where he has been at the forefront of software engineering and cybersecurity initiatives within the Software Engineering Institute (SEI). Recently, in 2023, Brad made a significant transition and joined the Center for Technology Transfer and Enterprise Creation (CTTEC) as a Manager of Business Development and Licensing. His new role involves safeguarding and promoting the intellectual property derived from the university's research efforts.
Passionate about high-tech innovations and the advancement of next-generation development, Brad's career path is focused on positive productivity. Before taking on his current position at CTTEC, he held prominent roles in esteemed companies operating in the Medical Device, Consumer Electronics, and High Tech sectors. During this time, Brad was involved in three successful start-up exits, one of which was the Carnegie Mellon Startup BodyMedia.
Brad's diverse educational background has equipped him to contribute to various domains. His studies span across Neuroscience, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Cyber Security, and Artificial Intelligence. Leveraging his expertise, Brad actively mentors graduate students and start-ups at CMU's Tepper School of Business Accelerate Leadership Center and the Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship. Additionally, he serves as faculty at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and instructs a course on Leading Innovations at CMU's Tepper School of Business Executive Education. Giving back to us community, he is a 7th grade Catechist for his church. Brad is dedication to fostering innovation and nurturing future talents with a lasting impact on the academic and business landscape at CMU.
