Carnegie Mellon doesn’t shut its doors when the final sounds of bagpipes fade after commencement. In fact, from research projects and summer camps to national conferences, Carnegie Mellon buzzes with activity. Here’s a sampling of what took place.

These programs only scratch the surface of Carnegie Mellon’s summer activities. The Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium (calico) held its national conference on campus; faculty from minority-serving institutions attended classes in information security sponsored by CyLab, a university-wide computer security initiative; the robot soccer teams took on the world in Lisbon, Portugal, at RoboCup 2004; and gifted high school students lived and studied on campus for five weeks during the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences.

And you thought we were on vacation.
