Architect Joan Saba (A’82) is part of the healing process. She designs healthcare facilities with the intention of not only making them as efficient as possible for medical personnel, but also creating a nurturing environment for patients. Healthcare Design, an influential industry magazine, recently named her the country’s top healthcare architect, noting her work on the Lunder Building at Massachusetts General Hospital. The foundation of her career began at CMU, where she says she learned to “understand transformational design.”
