Nick Gianopoulos (E’12) didn’t have a lot of downtime as an undergraduate at Carnegie Mellon. A four-year letterman who played center-back on the Tartans soccer team, the mechanical engineering major had a 3.88 GPA. The NCAA took notice, granting him a $7,500 postgraduate scholarship for “excelling academically and athletically.” One of only 58 recipients nationwide, Gianopoulos is pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering at Carnegie Mellon.
