Robert Cavalier traveled to New York City to pick up the World Technology Award in Ethics from the World Technology Network. "World" is an appropriate distinction: as Cavalier, a philosophy professor at Carnegie Mellon, was among nominees from Australia, Denmark, England, Germany, Japan, and Norway. He received the top honor in ethics, in part, for his work involving the use of educational computing in philosophy, such as software and Web-based materials.
