Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science students needn’t be worried about eking out a living. The financial Web site NerdWallet recently created a salary comparison tool for the top 60 colleges and universities (as well as 160 specialty undergraduate programs within those schools). CMU’s computer science program topped the entire list, where the average salary reported upon graduation is nearly $80,000.

Meanwhile, according to the 2012 SmartMoney College Rankings, the rest of CMU’s new graduates aren’t doing badly, either. The survey looked at 50 schools (including all the Ivies), and Carnegie Mellon had the second-highest median salary of recent graduates: $59,800.
