Deans have an integral leadership role at any university. Carnegie Mellon is no exception, which makes the following announcements extremely noteworthy.

Pradeep K. Khosla has been reappointed dean of the Carnegie Institute of Technology. Founding director of the Carnegie Mellon CyLab, Khosla also recently received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Randal E. Bryant, reappointed dean of the School of Computer Science, is in charge of a team ranked one of the top four graduate programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. Bryant also recently received the Phil Kaufman Award from the Electronic Design Automation Consortium and the IEEE Council of Electronic Design Automation.

Ramayya Krishnan, professor of Management Science and Information Systems, has been named dean of the H. John Heinz III College. Krishnan is a founding faculty member of the Master's of Information Systems Management Program and was instrumental in the creation of the iLab Research Center.
