In June, the Alumni Association Board selected recipients of the 2006 Alumni Awards, which honor outstanding contributions by alumni, faculty, and students. Award winners were honored at the October 13 ceremony during Homecoming & Reunion Weekend.

New Members Elected to Alumni Association Board

In April, the Carnegie Mellon Alumni Association Board elected six new members to three-year terms:

Francine Simmons Beyer, HSS ’69
An educational psychologist in Philadelphia, Simmons Beyer is a former alumni chapter volunteer and board member. In 2004, she established an endowed scholarship for HSS students.

Alexander D. Condron, IM ’89
A longtime Carnegie Mellon volunteer, Condron has served as president of the Andrew Carnegie Society, ex officio member of the Board of Trustees, and Reunion Committee member. In 2003 he was a winner of the Alumni Service Award. A Pittsburgher, he is president of Drew Management Corp.

Tracie M. Hall, HNZ ’94
At Heinz, Hall served as president of the Black Graduate Student Association, was on the steering/founding committee for the Pittsburgh I Have a Dream program, and won the Otto A. Davis Award for Racial and Social Justice. She lives in Plano, Texas, where she is a director of human resources-client consultant for Capital One Financial Corp.

Kevin A. Joy, CIT ’89
Joy has served as president of the Chicago alumni chapter and as a member of the CIT Dean’s Leadership Council and the Carnegie Mellon Admission Council. A vice president at Goldman, Sachs & Co., he lives in Milwaukee.

Heather L. Strong, CFA ’93
An architecture major, Strong was a Fifth Year Scholar at Carnegie Mellon and is presently a member of the Chicago alumni chapter board. She works at Valerio Dewalt Train Associates, a Chicago architecture firm.

Kristina E. Wiltsee, MCS’05
At Carnegie Mellon, Wiltsee was Student Body president, The Tartan ombudsman, a lead Orientation Counselor, and a member of Delta Gamma. An Edgewater, New Jersey, resident, she is a scientist at Reckitt Benckiser, Inc.
