A young accountant rushes from his office, jumps into a brand new car conveniently parked outside, and speeds off to an important meeting. A student takes his well-worn laptop and plugs it into a charger that has no electrical connections yet miraculously revs up his dying battery. Both are using the innovative products of Carnegie Mellon alumni: Scott Griffith, CEO of Zipcar, is in the car-sharing business; Eric Giler, CEO of Witricity, makes wireless electrical power technology. For their work, Griffith and Giler were among those named 2009 All-Stars by Mass High Tech: The Journal of New England Technology.
