I wouldn't say that I've had the standard college experience. Being in the School of Drama seems more like working two jobs than being a junior in college. I jokingly tell my friends back home that my class schedule is equivalent to an 8-5 job, and the production work in the evenings is the second job that pays the rent. This seems like a lot compared to most college schedules, but this is the required load for my major. The workload doesn't bother me, though, because I love what I do.

My education is happening, in part, because of my Holleran Scholarship, which was established by alumnus and trustee T. Jerome Holleran (E'57) and his wife, Carolyn. They created an endowed scholarship matching gift challenge with their grant. From what I understand, more than 50 donors have responded to the challenge, enabling more than 50 students so far to benefit from the scholarship program, including me. By coincidence, of my donors—Robert F. Doepel III (A'78) and his wife, Helen A. Doepel (HS'77)—Mr. Doepel was actually an alum of my same program! The scholarship by the Hollerans and Doepels has been a much-appreciated contribution to my education.
