Summary of Benefits of Industrial Membership in the CRP Consortium

Cost: $25,000 per year starting January 2011 and for each continuing year of Membership; 180 day notice of withdrawal is required once Membership has been initiated. There is a special reduced rate of $5,000 for companies with less than 25 employees. This step was taken, with agreement of current Members, to expedite technology transfer to small start up organizations.

Right to Obtain a License for Patents on ATRP and CRP owned by CMU: Yes, a license will only be signed with an active Member.

Short-Term visit of Members Researcher to CMU laboratories: Yes

Support of Post-Doctoral Fellow: Yes, for additional $120K/year

Special Topics/Sponsored Research: CMU- with exlusive license in specific field of use for Sponsor.

IP Ownership: CMU—will continue to protect significant advances in all aspects of general research on CRP conducted within the Center for Macromolecular Engineering (licenses will be available to active Members of the Consortium)

Consortium members get an automatic license for the internal use of ATRP for non commercial use.

  1. Member can apply membership fee to any royalties due from commercial licenses.
  2. Member can deduct any foreign patent filing costs from future royalty payments
