Now that you're ready to travel to the U.S., let's get you prepared for arrival and help you settle in once you're on campus!

Our OIE staff are looking forward to getting to know you over the course of your studies. While this website contains all the necessary and important information you'll need to have a successful start to your CMU experience, we are available to answer any questions or concerns you may have along the way.

Documents to Travel With

Now that you're on you're way to CMU, make sure you carry the required documents with you to experience a seamless entry into the U.S. It is important to remember to keep your immigration documents in your carry-on luggage - not your checked luggage - so you can easily access them when needed.

Settling In Guide

OIE's Settling in Guide serves as a reference on how to adjust to life in the U.S. and Pittsburgh, and to help you get to know the university. In this guide, international undergraduate and graduate students, exchange students and international scholars will find general information about things like housing, getting around town, what's what on campus, how to file taxes, and more.

We recommend bookmarking this webpage to reference as you learn more about your new surroundings.

Welcome to CMU! We're so glad you're here!
