Media Advisory: Carnegie Mellon Conference Explores Transforming Health Care Through Innovative Disruption

What: Carnegie Mellon University's third annual Innovation in Health Care Technology Conference will bring together health care industry leaders, information technology experts and entrepreneurs to discuss "Transforming Health Care Through Innovative Disruption."

The agenda includes keynote presentations by Dr. William F. Bria III, chief medical information officer at the HCI Group and board chairman for the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems, and CMU's Alan J. Russell, the Highmark Distinguished Professor in the College of Engineering's Institute for Complex Engineered Systems and director of the Disruptive Health Technology Institute.

Faculty from the H.J. Heinz III College and Tepper School of Business will moderate the following panel discussions:

Disruptive Innovation in Healthcare
Featuring experts from local startups Body Media (Jawbone), Omnyx, Proximedics and Rinovum Women's Health.

Digitization of Medicine and Implications for Health Delivery
Featuring experts from Jawbone, Kaiser Permanente, Magellan Global Health, Scripps and the University of Chicago.

Building Collaborative Networks
Featuring experts from Highmark, PwC Advisory and UnitedHealth Group.

Pharma 2.0 to 3.0
Featuring experts from AT Kearney, Cognition Therapeutics, Mylan and PwC Health Industries.

CMU's BioPharma and Healthcare Club, a joint graduate student organization of the H. John Heinz III College and Tepper School of Business, is hosting the event.
