Features of the new laboratories
The new labs, designed by Burt Hill Kosar Rittelmann Associates and planned to open for classes in Fall 2003, offer many exciting features:
An interdisciplinary freshman lab
State-of-the-art labs for analytical, synthetic, and physical
chemistry and introductory physics
A lecture hall designed to facilitate scientific demonstrations
A computer classroom to facilitate data analysis and modeling
A dedicated K-12 educational outreach lab
More information about the laboratories is available in this pdf brochure (852K) that includes blueprints of floorplans and more about the goals for the project.
This facility is made possible by generous gifts from the Richard King Mellon Foundation, PPG Industries, Merck, and an anonymous donor.
