Students Win Awards at Japanese Speech Contest

Five students taking Japanese courses in the Department of Modern Languages participated in the first annual Japanese Speech Contest at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) on April 11, and each one took home an award. The students competed at three levels with peers from IUP, Slippery Rock University, and Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. Speech topics included “The Reason I Study Japanese” and “My Two Weeks in Japan.” Congratulations to all participants!
