Roundtable on the Origins of Occupy Wall Street

Roundtable PosterWhere did OWS come from? Though media coverage sometimes made it seem like the movement came out of the blue, on this panel we will consider a variety of "points of instigation," from global uprisings in Spain and the Middle East, to African American music and social movements, to academia and Adbusters magazine. Speakers include Pittsburgh-based rapper, Jasiri X, author of We the 99 and What if the Tea Party was Black?, Bill Scott, the Pitt professor who started the Library at Zuccotti Park, and Dana Bilecki, from the OWS media team.
