Visitors

Determine which of the following accounts is appropriate for your visitor.  

• Network Guest: Visitors to campus or individuals attending a demonstration, seminar or meeting who require a temporary userID for a short-term (90 days or less). Provides only wired and wireless network access.
• Guest: Visitors or participants in special programs and conferences on campus who require a temporary userID for a short-term (5 months or less). Provides cluster access, network registration and access, and an email account.
• Personal Sponsored: Individuals who are not officially affiliated with Carnegie Mellon but are doing university-related work. This account type is fee based and requires a minimum sponsorship of 6 months (appropriate for long-term account needs).
• Courtesy: For visiting scholars, researchers or employees who do not have a social security number. Courtesy accounts are intended for short-term use (4 months or less).
