Access AFS Space
To copy files from your local computer to your AFS space, use OpenAFS from a Windows cluster machine, or, from your personal computer, use the appropriate SFTP client or access OpenAFS through Virtual Andrew. To perform other tasks within your AFS space, launch a terminal client.

Transferring Files
Follow these steps to transfer files to your AFS space:
- Launch your SFTP program.
- The server or hostname you will need to connect to is unix.andrew.cmu.edu.
Follow these steps to transfer files to your Project Volume space:
- Launch your SFTP program
- The server or hostname you will need to connect to is unix.andrew.cmu.edu.
- Once connected, change the directory into your project volume directory.
