Parking

Over commencement weekend, complimentary parking will be available in the following locations on campus:

  • East Campus Garage
  • Morewood Lot
  • Collaborative Innovation Center (CIC) Garage
  • Gates Garage
  • Dithridge/Software Engineering Institute Garage
  • South of Neville Lot

Parking Close to Gesling Stadium

  • The East Campus Garage is the parking area closest to Gesling Stadium.
  • If you arrive later than 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, it is unlikely that parking will be available in this garage. Please proceed to other parking locations.
  • Even if the East Campus Garage becomes full, those guests in need of handicapped parking will continue to be accommodated in that location.

On-Street Parking

  • Metered parking is available on Margaret Morrison Street (Saturday only: See Street Closures below) and Frew and Tech Streets.
  • Spaces are monitored by the City of Pittsburgh Monday - Saturday. Violators may be ticketed; please follow posted regulations.

Street Closures

  • Please be advised that Margaret Morrison Street will be closed on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. to accommodate the off-campus diploma ceremony shuttles.

Drop-Offs & Short Term Parking

  • Short term, 30-minute parking is available in the East Campus Garage. Please use this area for drop-offs and pick-ups.

Off-Campus Diploma Ceremony Shuttles

Sunday, May 17 ONLY
12:30 - 6 p.m.

At the conclusion of the main commencement ceremony, shuttles will run continuously between campus and all off-campus diploma ceremonies (except Heinz Field for Entertainment Technology Center graduates and Rodef Shalom Congregation for Information Networking Institute graduates). All shuttles run the same loop and operate until 6 p.m.

The pick-up location is on Margaret Morrison Street. Upon returning to campus, the drop-off location is near the corner of Forbes and Morewood Avenues.

*Please note that the off-campus diploma ceremony shuttles are not wheelchair-accessible. However, wheelchair-accessible shuttle service is available for guests with disabilities. See below for details. 

If you prefer to walk or drive, you may download directions or pick them up at the Welcome Area over commencement weekend.

For Guests Who Are Elderly or Have Disabilities

Parking

  • All campus parking lots/garages are equipped with handicapped parking spaces. 
  • On Sunday only, the first floor of the East Campus Garage will be reserved for elderly guests and guests with disabilities. You do not need a handicapped parking placard or hangtag to access this parking area. Tickets or prior arrangements are not needed.

Wheelchair-Accessible Shuttles

Sunday, May 17 ONLY
12:30 - 6 p.m.

At the conclusion of the main commencement ceremony, wheelchair-accessible shuttles will be available to transport special needs guests to and from off-campus diploma ceremonies (except Heinz Field/Entertainment Technology Center) and to more distant campus locations, as needed.

The pick-up location is the service courtyard of the Cohon Center, near the East Campus Garage.
