Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society Initiation Ceremony
McConomy Auditorium, first floor, Cohon University Center

  • Sponsors will send invitations directly to inductees.
  • A reception will immediately follow in the Connan Room, first floor, Cohon Center.

4:30 p.m.

2017 Senior Leadership Recognition Ceremony (Invitation only)
Rangos Hall, second floor, Cohon University Center

  • This ceremony recognizes nominated seniors who have reflected upon their specific leadership contributions during their time at Carnegie Mellon.
  • Doors open at 4 p.m.

6 p.m.

2017 CMU Alumni Awards
Philip Chosky Theater, Purnell Center

  • All are invited to join the CMU Alumni Association for the 2017 Alumni Awards show and reception.
  • The 2017 Award Honorees include award-winning actors and executives in entertainment, policy, technology and medicine, along with those who are passionate and dedicated to service at CMU.
  • Doors open at 5 p.m. Ceremony at 6 p.m. A reception immediately follows the ceremony.

Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) Undergraduate Commencement Presentation

  • This is a presentation for undergraduates in the HCI additional major and their families and peers.

Robing for All Doctor’s Hooding Ceremony Participants
Carnegie Music Hall Foyer, Carnegie Museum, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (off campus)

  • Robing is for doctor's candidates and faculty hooders. Guests should proceed directly to the ceremony. 

4:30 p.m.

Doctor's Hooding Ceremony
Carnegie Music Hall, Carnegie Museum, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (off campus)

  • At this ceremony, all Ph.D. graduates will be individually hooded and recognized.  
  • Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Please do not arrive prior to this time.
  • Tickets are not issued and there is no limit on the number of guests a student may bring.

Robing for All Commencement Ceremony Participants

  • Robing is for all graduates and ceremony participants only. Guests should proceed directly to the ceremony.
  • All guests must be seated by 10:15 a.m. for the procession of graduates into Gesling Stadium.

Main Commencement Ceremony
Gesling Stadium

  • The ceremony begins with the procession of graduates and will include addresses from the student speaker and keynote speaker, as well as a charge from the president of the university.

  • Tickets are not issued and there is no limit on the number of guests a student may bring. Seating is first come, first served.
