Conference Funding Applications Open Until Feb 21

GSA/Provost Conference Funding

The Spring 2021 round of conference funding opens today until Sunday, February 21st, 2021

>>> Applications can be submitted here <<<

Awards are up to $750 per student and can be applied to virtual conferences held between April 1 - June 30, 2021. Awardees are selected through a lottery process on a quarterly basis. This is considered a partial source of support, and applicants are required to seek funds from the following other sources first, before applying for these funds, including:
  • Funds from the conference they will be attending
  • Their own advisor
  • Their department
  • Their college

Graduate Student Conference Funding is provided by the Graduate Student Assembly (through the graduate student activities fee) and the Provost's Office. It is managed by the Office of Graduate Education. This funding opportunity is available to individual graduate students. If you have submitted an abstract to present at a conference, you do not have to wait until accepted. Graduate students who apply for Conference Funding must be enrolled CMU students at the time they attend the conference.

You do NOT need to be presenting your own research to be eligible for this funding.

To apply, you will need to fill out the online form, and your academic advisor will need to submit a quick advisor support form. These both must be submitted for your application to be complete. If you do not have an advisor, your graduate program coordinator can complete the advisor support form.

If you have questions about the application process, please contact the Office of Graduate Education.

Best,

Kristen Allen
