GSA was saddened and horrified to hear of the violence that killed 8 people - 6 of whom were Asian women -  in Atlanta, GA on Wednesday. This attack took place in the context of a culture of othering, invisibilization, and fetishizing that Asian women, in particular, face in this country.

As we’ve said before, GSA stands unequivocally against white supremacy and hate in all its forms and in solidarity with our Asian students. If you need anything during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out, and we hope you can find ways to care for yourselves and each other.

We wanted to share information about a vigil that the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion, CAPS, and student government has put together for tonight, March 18, 2021, at 6:30PM. We hope you’re able to make it.

We also wanted to again include resources that might be useful, with the addition of these mental health resources from APIKC and these resources for Anti-Asian Violence

Thank you all for looking out for one another. Please reach out if you need anything, and to reiterate: We stand with you.
