BS 2023 Biological Sciences, Environmental and Sustainability Studies Minor

Claire Chiang is an alumna who studied Biological Sciences and pursued a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. As a biology major, most of Claire’s courses were very stem focused. As a result, she was able to utilize the ESS minor to take art and philosophy classes outside of her normal course load and expose herself to new material while also meeting students and professors from other disciplines. Through these courses Claire expanded her knowledge on what sustainability means and developed strong relationships with her peers and mentors. After graduation Claire will be attending Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine where she hopes to take what she has gained from her ESS minor and conduct research in avian medicine.
