Investigations Unit
The Carnegie Mellon University Police Investigation Unit is responsible for the follow-up investigation of all serious crimes/incidents reported on or near university property.
These crimes may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Arson
- Burglary
- Computer/Electronic Crimes
- Fraud
- Robbery
- Sexual Assaults
- Thefts
- Violations of Carnegie Mellon Community Standards
Detectives assigned to the Investigation Unit receive specialized training in crime scene investigation, computer/electronic forensics, financial investigations, intelligence gathering, and several other areas.
