In
accordance to the agreements made during the fifth meeting of the
Korea-U.S. Joint Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation
in Seoul on October 30-31, 2002, Korea-U.S. Nanoforum is being held
annually since 2003 for the mutual benefits of developing nanoscience
and nanotechnology. Most recently in 2005, about 50 nano researchers
from Korea and the United States gathered at Los Angeles to build
up a collaborative network among research communities and government
agencies of both sides as well as to exchange information and find
opportunities for cooperation in nanotechnology arena.
Under
the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of
Korea and National Science Foundation (NSF) of USA and with
the efforts of Carnegie Mellon University, Korea Institute of Science
& Technology Information (KISTI), Korea Technology Research
Society (KoNTRS), and Nano Technology Research Association (NTRA),
this Korea-U.S. Nanoforum is marking its 3rd anniversary on April
3, 2006 at Tower Hotel in Seoul. About 30 scientific lectures will
be given focusing primarily on Nano Devices & Systems and Nano
Implications of Environmental, Health and Safety.
We
believe that the 3rd Korea-U.S. Nanoforum will provide you with
a great opportunity to accelerate the exchange of information on
recent research achievements and trends of nanoscience and nanotechnology
both in Korea and the United States. On behalf of all advisory committee
members in Korea and the United States, we deeply appreciate all
participants and speakers for their support and cooperation for
the success of this forum.
