Metro21 Featured at Sensorization: Smart Cities Webinar

Metro21 Executive Director Karen Lightman presented at the SEMI Mems & Sensors Industry Group Webinar Series - Understanding Smart Cities and the Role Sensors Play on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

This first webinar explores the “Smart Cities” concept and how smart mobility will be implemented with a network of sensors sending data to robust computer systems. SEMI MSIG Hall of Famer, Karen Lightman of Carnegie Mellon University’s Metro21 project will kick off the live discussion by describing that a smart city is a “system of systems,” why we need smart cities, the evolution of smart cities, and some smart city projects.

In the second half of the webinar, Sameer Sharma, Intel’s Global GM (Smart Cities & Transportation) for IOT Solutions, will address the mobility challenges of today and tomorrow with intelligent transportation solutions based on Intel’s advanced MCU technology.
