Metro21 Presents Feeding Families Project to NOPREN

Metro21 Executive Director Karen Lightman and Researcher Steve Smith presented their project, "Feeding Families in Need: Optimizing School Bus Routes for Pandemic Meal Support" to HER NOPREN on Friday, February 12, 2021.

Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, HER NOPREN is the Healthy Eating Research working group of the Nutrition & Obesity Policy Research Evaluation Network, a nationwide group comprised of 380+ researchers, advocacy organization representatives and practitioners, and 185+ students who are exploring ways to inform policy and practice in real-time, as well as examine the impacts of federal, tribal, state, and local COVID-19 relevant decisions on food security and dietary intake. Sub-groups are focusing on school meals, the charitable food system, and other pandemic-related issues.
