Smart Mobility Connection

Mobility21 will continue the Smart Mobility Connection seminar series for the fall 2020 semester featuring CMU professor Jon Peha, who will speak onSpectrum Policies for Connected Vehicles.

The US Federal Communications Commission and Department of Transportation are faced with a number of difficult decisions about spectrum policy for "Intelligent Transportation Systems" (ITS) that could shape the future direction of connected vehicle technology and the applications that depend on it. There is strong disagreement on what to do. This talk will summarize some of the important open issues, describe relevant research results from CMU on efficient use of spectrum for ITS, and present a recently-unveiled proposal on how the federal government should get past the impasse.
