Metro21 Discusses Collaborative Problem Solving in Cities on Comcast Newsmakers

Karen Lightman, Executive Director of Metro21: Smart Cities Institute, joins the host of Comcast Newsmakers, Sheila Hyland, to discuss collaborative initiatives and using science to solve problems in cities and communities. 

Karen and Sheila talk about Metro21's support from local foundations and Carnegie Mellon Univeristy in addition to the valuable partnerships Metro21 has formed with the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and The Allegheny County Airport Authority. Karen gives examples of how Metro21 uses open data and CMU expertise to fund pilot projects to help solve common problems faced in growing metro areas.
