U.S. Department of Energy Partners With Carnegie Mellon to Launch the 2022 Global Clean Energy Action Forum
The U.S. Department of Energy, in collaboration with CMU, to host the world's premier international clean energy event bringing together ministers and other energy leaders to accelerate global clean energy deployment and innovation.
CMU Part of DoE Grant to Clean Up Curbside Emissions
Carnegie Mellon's Metro21: Smart Cities Institute will be working on a project to clean up curbside emissions in busy business districts. Carnegie Mellon University Professor Sean Qian is the principal investigator for the recently awarded Department of Energy Zero Emissions Curbside Management Model to Benefit Businesses and Environment in Pittsburgh and will be conducting the research and coordinating the Pittsburgh testbed, with Metro21 Executive Director Karen Lightman and CMU Professor Costa Samaras acting as co-PIs.

New Road Salt Method Saves City of Pittsburgh $1 Million
The city of Pittsburgh has announced that they have saved $1 million with new methods of salting roads last year. With the use of technology developed in collaboration with researchers at Carnegie Mellon University, as well as a new salt mixture, the Department of Public Works has been able to expand city services, improve transparency, and save the city money.
