Creating a Healthy Community

The health of the Carnegie Mellon community will be bolstered by a dedicated space for comprehensive, wrap-around care. Students will find a new and expanded University Health Services clinic for well and sick care, modern exam and treatment rooms, and a new facility for counseling services — a holistic care model.

Spaces have also been intentionally carved out to seek emotional balance and health education, giving students the support they need to be their best from the inside out.

This new building brings together key caregivers — physical, mental and emotional care experts and advocates in a single space — who will help guide students on their journeys to optimal mental and physical health.

Creating a healthy culture starts with making visitors feel comfortable and safe — whether they need a quiet spot while they wait to seek treatment or a space where they can feel secure that they aren’t being unnecessarily exposed to illnesses while waiting for an appointment.

Supporting Holistic Health

As young adults, students need the right information and support to start and sustain healthy habits. Spaces for education will address sleep, diet and other wellness habits, helping students find a healthier balance for their lifetimes.
