Additional COVID-19 Vaccines Offered On Campus

Dear Members of the Carnegie Mellon University Community:

We write today to announce additional opportunities to receive the Moderna vaccine through CMU’s University Health Services (UHS). UHS will distribute first doses of the vaccine in Rangos Ballroom on May 14 and May 18. These opportunities are open to all CMU students, faculty, staff, affiliates and vendors. To register for an appointment, please visit our scheduling page. Walk-ins will be accommodated as dose availability permits, but registration is preferred.

The Moderna vaccine, available to people aged 18 and older, requires a second dose, which will be administered on campus June 11 and June 15. Many students will have departed for the summer before these second dose appointments. County and state health officials recommend students get vaccinated before the end of the semester and can seek their second dose of the vaccine in their home communities.

We have been encouraged by the thousands of CMU community members who have already been vaccinated against COVID-19. As we finish the semester, we can still increase vaccine adoption to strengthen our collective protection against the virus. We encourage all students who have not yet been vaccinated to get their first dose of the vaccine as soon as possible. We know that the sooner you get vaccinated, the sooner you start to protect yourself, your family and other community members. Students returning to campus next semester can take advantage of this opportunity to satisfy the university’s recently announced requirement for fall.

We know that vaccine adoption will be critical to supporting our ability to return to a near normal experience in the fall. Thank you for taking advantage of these opportunities to mitigate the transmission and spread of COVID-19.

Sincerely,
