Sadaf started her postdoctoral in May 2025. Her research at CMU focuses on developing statistical and numerical methods to identify adaptation pathways for mitigating coastal flooding. She is currently generating joint synthetic events of rainfall, storm surge, and river discharge, critical boundary conditions for hydrodynamic modeling. By simulating these events based on historical data, her work aims to pinpoint high-risk hotspot regions and inform the design of effective adaptation strategies.
During her PhD, she focused on developing high resolution datasets associated with coastal flooding for current and projected scenarios using deterministic and probabilistic machine learning algorithms. She also employed hydrodynamic models to achieve changes in tidal flooding regimes.
Sadaf is an indoor person and in her free time, she listens to music and watches TV.
