Chris Menand

Associate Director for Study Abroad & Exchange Programs

Christine Menand is the Associate Director of OIE for Study Abroad in OIE. She works with students in the College of Fine Arts and incoming international exchange students on study abroad, research and internships abroad, as well as with international student exchange relationships.

Chris is also a volunteer member of NAFSA's Consular Affairs Liaison (CAL) team, joining the group shortly after it was founded. Within the CAL, her committee focus is on the UK, though her professional role at CMU involves students travelling across the globe (outgoing study abroad and incoming exchange students).

Prior to joining Carnegie Mellon, Chris worked at the University of St. Thomas College of Business in Minneapolis. The majority of her time there was spent working with the Master of International Management (MIM) program. Some of her responsibilities included overseeing MIM's international cohort agreements with Taiwan, Canada, and Greece, advising domestic and international students, and providing faculty services. Chris previously worked for the Center for International Business and Travel in Washington, DC and New York City.

Chris received her Master's degree from University College London's, School of Slavonic and East European Studies, and her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of Richmond.

Chris truly enjoys her work at Carnegie Mellon, especially having the opportunity to collaborate with students, faculty and administrators across the globe!
