Web Strategy

The Web Strategy team is responsible for building a cohesive brand online, including the design and development of the core cmu.edu website.

The team works closely with the university's Computing Services to offer a central content management system (CMS) and design templates that can be used by units across the institution.

Lauren oversees the planning, strategy and execution of a variety of digital initiatives including website redesigns, content updates and branded email communications. She emphasizes the importance of usability, accessibility and thoughtful information architecture in order to provide the best digital experience for users. She received a bachelor's degree in business from Penn State and an MBA from Pepperdine University. In addition to spending time with her husband and 2 kids, she loves drawing, painting, reading a great book and English Bulldogs.

Technical Program Manager

Greg manages the development team and provides direction for technical projects in digital strategy. Coming from the world of consultancy and agency work, Greg has experience in designing and developing applications and websites for many industries, but especially higher education. In his free time, Greg writes, directs and performs comedy and, when the reviews are bad, retreats to the hills to hike.

Andrea Goeringer

Project Manager, Digital Operations

Andrea joins Carnegie Mellon University as the project manager for the UCM web strategy team. With a focus on clear communication, efficient workflows and continual collaboration, she helps the team leverage the power of well-planned projects. She received a bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh in creative writing and communications. When she's not planning projects as VP for her daughter's PTA, she is planning an outdoor family adventure including skiing, biking, camping or hiking.

Ian Moffitt

Senior Front End Web Developer

Ian develops the front-end experience of the web, bringing designs to life with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a consideration for UX and accessibility. He brings over a decade of agency experience in building higher education websites across a variety of CMS platforms, and has been making websites for almost 20 years. He has a bachelor's in Computer Information Systems from Cal U of PA (now PennWest California). In his spare time, he enjoys brewing beer, playing Dungeons and Dragons, the occasional video game and binging TV shows with his wife.

Alexis Morrell

Digital Content Specialist

Alexis divides her time between the Digital Content Strategy team and the College of Fine Arts, consulting with teams and website owners to build, iterate upon and think strategically about their websites and digital platforms, additionally lending design and user experience expertise to support development work. Alexis has a bachelor's degree in biology from West Virginia University, a master's degree in professional & technical writing from Carnegie Mellon University, a master's degree in design from CMU and is continuing graduate studies in design at CMU. She holds a UX Certification from Nielsen Norman Group, with a specialty in Interaction Design. Alexis appreciates time spent with her cats, Sasha and Quinn, and especially the time spent with her partner, Caleb.
