Laura Snyder

Senior Director, Research Communications

See Communications

As a key architect of research communications strategy, Laura works collaboratively across CMU’s community to tell a powerful story about the university’s research enterprise. Prior to joining CMU, she spent over two decades at the RW Jones Agency, a strategic communications firm for higher education, where she helped institutions strengthen their brand, advance their reputation and empower their faculty as public scholars. When she’s not nerding out over the incredible research she gets to share at CMU, Laura enjoys cooking unnecessarily complicated meals for her family, reading crime novels and acting as the “seeing eye human” to her blind Jack Russell Terrier.

Associate Director, Research Communications

Caroline is part of the university's research communications team, telling the world about the spectacular work that's happening at Carnegie Mellon. Before moving back to Pittsburgh, Caroline spent more than a decade in Washington, D.C. where she did communications work for Janelia Research Campus, American University and a boutique strategic communications firm. She has a master's degree in public communication from American University and a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Pittsburgh. When she's not at work, Caroline loves exploring the city with her family and consuming more books, tv shows and podcasts than you might think possible.
