Student readings are held monthly in the Gladys Schmitt Creative Writing Center. The highlight of the Student Reading Series is the annual Senior Reading, in which all graduating creative writing majors read their work. Please contact Laura Berry or David Frank for more details.
Every year, the creative writing program invites a distinguished alumnus to speak about his or her writing career with current students. As part of this event, we also present the Gladys Schmitt Scholarship to a student who contributes the most to the program, both in and out of the classroom.
Below is a past sample poster for the Visiting Writers Series. For a complete listing of our English Department Speaker Series, please see our Speaker Series page.
All readings are held in the Adamson Wing, Baker Hall 136, on the Carnegie Mellon University campus. All readings begin at 8:00PM and are free and open to the public.
