Ludmila Hyman Accepts Position at CMU Qatar

Ludmila Hyman has accepted the position of Assistant Teaching Professor at CMU's Qatar campus, where she will begin teaching in spring 2012.

Ludmila received her Ph.D. in Rhetoric in 2007 from CMU. Her dissertation was entitled "Balancing the Concrete and Abstract in Public Intellectual Reasoning: A Study of Hannah Arendt." From 2007-2010, she was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, and she has recently published research on public argument, ethical values in political argument, and the rhetoric and history of psychology.

Ludmila first taught on the Pittsburgh campus as a Ph.D. student, then later as a post-doctoral fellow. She has taught courses such as Writing for the Professions, Argument, Rhetoric and Controversy, and Rhetoric and Leadership.
