nsfSelf-Assembly in Biology and Materials Science

An International Workshop on Current Problems in Complex Fluids,
Hotel Camino Real Zaashila, Huatulco, Oaxaca, México, June 8 – 12, 2010

We cordially invite you to an international meeting that will foster communication between a diverse group of researchers in the U.S. and México at the intersection between Physics and Biology. The workshop will serve as a platform to discuss molecular self-assembly in biology and materials science.
An equally important goal is to provide an environment for the establishment and continuation of joint research initiatives between the Méxican and U.S. scientific research communities working in these areas. The workshop features research presentations and discussions of interdisciplinary topics, such as:

        • • Thermodynamics of Molecular Assemblies
        • • Viral Assemblies
        • • Membranes: Experiments, Theory and Simulations
        • • Molecular Interactions in Materials Design
